I assume it'll be a learning curve similar to other media that had the same problem? But I agree the almost fakeout makes it all the worse.

I couldn't say. It's just something I noticed with cdramas. The idol dramas aren't always great re: fight scenes and fight choreography, but one thing they consistently do is say that Female Character X has powerful martial arts skills, but she will probably not get as many fight scenes as the male characters. Maybe you'll get one display of that prowess, and then POOF it doesn't happen again.
