Missing things you quit

(Anonymous) 2026-03-08 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Awhile ago I realized my tumblr activity was super unhealthy - I'd just scroll endlessly for hours and hours. I wasn't participating, I wasn't really doing anything, just scrolling and being entertained. I tried to limit my time but it never seemed to work. I found myself scrolling on tumblr instead of other hobbies and decided I just needed to go all out and delete my accounts and the app.

Lately I've really missed it. I wish I just had something to scroll mindlessly and be entertained by. There's reddit, but it's not the same type of community or humor for me. I've found myself wondering if I should make a new account and try and get back into fandom on there, but ultimately I don't think it'd be healthy so I'm just kind of sitting here acknowledging that it was a good choice but also really missing it.

I quit Neverwinter Online cold turkey several years ago because I spent way too much time on it and also lost interest.
I had some fond nostalgia for it on occasion but I really had a sudden major wish to play it again after playing BG3, because of the shared universe. Got over it by now but a little bit still lingers.

It's okay to miss things, even if they weren't healthy for you. It can be especially hard if they made you feel good or gave you a little boost.
