I'm in my thirties and I still don't like leaving the house with wet hair/will avoid it whenever possible (although now it's because I just don't like how my hair looks when it's wet instead of "what if you catch a cold???", which was what I was told growing up).

I mean. If you are doing it in a cold weather. It means your wet hair will keep you more cold and this can affect immune system.
Also it's a better bacterial breading ground if it's wet.
So wet hair do not give your cold. But it increases your chances of catching one.
I am fucking tired of this smug Western "your elders were so stupid". They were wrong about reasons, it doesn't mean you shouldn't respect cold weather and your body needs.

CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING UP A GUY TO BE MAD AT, AND THEN BEING MAD AT THAT GUY!

literally the comment never mentioned cold weather. and since it is, in fact, enormously uncomfortable to do that in cold weather, presumably that's not when OP is talking about

also "my parents regurgitated a few common myths without thinking about it very much" =/= "I think they were so stupid". Smart people repeat things they were told a long time ago without scrutinizing it all the time.

be sick of western arrogance somewhere that someone is actually doing it maybe, it should NOT be that hard to find real examples

Yeah, sure, it was a short-tempered response from me. But you are taking on an other level. I am not making up a guy, because I've seen a lot of absolutely self-important "myth busters" with "nooooo, you can't get cooold, that's stupid. Nooo changes in weather doesn't cause your migraine, you just connect rain with bad times".
I did persume that OP talks about cold or coldish weather, because I've never heard anyone say about getting cold from it at summer. But I do apologise if this is a thing that absolutely happens.

DA

Sure, there are people who do this, but Nico did not. You're misplaced your anger onto someone who didn't deserve it.

Wet hair is actually less strong and less able to resist breakage than hair that's dry or been blow-dried. Blow-drying isn't bad for your hair as long as the air isn't too hot.
