In 2007 I was one of those people who refused to read or watch One Piece because "ehh the art is weird and gross!"

tried it

now my forever fandom. To the point I hate the live action with the same level of vitriol as I hate the LOTR movies from a book purist POV. The anime has certainly gone downhill in the last 3 years but who cares, the manga is the one true story and it's amazing. Still here almost 20 years later, def will still be here at the 20 year mark and beyond.
