I read an article about this and they quoted him as saying, "Even though it's like no one cares about this anymore." Which is almost the same as what you put, but my pedantic soul reads it a little differently if it doesn't have the comma. It's still not a great thing to say, but not as bad. So maybe I'm going to have to go watch and see how he said it. Just to appease my curiosity because I haven't seen Marty Supreme and I haven't seen anything of his that really impressed me so I don't really care if he wins. Even if I don't think saying something like that, how ever he said it, should really tank his chances.

If his performance is on par with someone else's and how academy members think of him decides it for that someone else, fair enough. But if his performance is better and these remarks cause members not to vote for him, that doesn't seem right. Of course, I feel like the Academy Awards has made a lot of missteps with voting and maybe are never really going to be able to get to completely fair and right.
