It's a meme among my friends that I enjoy male characters with anger issues.

I don't, though. I enjoy male characters that recognize they have emotional issues that require self-discipline, cultivate that discipline, and never ever crash out. It's the self-mastery part that I'm keen on.

Anger is just usually the only emotional issue fictional men are allowed to have.

I actually do not mind the death of Trip in the Star Trek Enterprise finale, the character died doing what he loved: Being incredibly stupid.

I just wonder who got his case of Old Milwaukee he kept in the Engine Coolant Container afterwards.

Shane Hollander has terrible taste in architecture. That lakeside glass house monstrosity he calls a cottage is going to kill so many birds.

I have never in my life read an E.M. Forster novel. I feel like I may have failed at literature somewhere.

People really growing up without imaginations. At least you are not dating the AI....right?

Lol, this secret amuses me.

My partner and I were watching Enterprise for basically the first time -- neither of us knew what the ending was going to be. But long before we got to the final episode, we already had a joke going that Trip has two modes in response to stress: (1) genial joke-cracking, and (2) PANICPANICPANIC. He always starts off in the first mode and then when the stress gets too much, he suddenly cracks and starts running around like a headless chicken.

So then when we watched the finale, while we did think it was pretty assholish of the writers to kill a main character in the last episode, we were also pretty amused that Trip went out 100% in-character. Like, his sacrifice probably wasn't even needed (probably they could have handled the situation without him needing to kill himself), it just seemed like he Panicked and did the first thing he could think of.

Hm. Well. I've never heard of E. M. Forster, so... I think you're fine, non.

Sometimes I hear a criticism and think "that's false, but it would be true of something else." People say Kingdom Hearts talks and talks about light and darkness, with no clear sense of what those phrases even mean. I thin that would be a true criticism of Marvel's Midnight Suns.

I tell my fandom/online friends that I dislike AI and totally agree with them on how bad it is, but I actually have multiple subscriptions to different LLM APIs for my own customized character and writing chatbots that I play with on a regular basis.

But it is gonna feed so many of the local predator population too, as they scavenge the corpses. See, great circle of life and so forth.
