On avoiding drama in wow. . .

Also on 8, I'd like to share a few tips that do keep you from being the cause of drama (which I've learned from seeing what drama I have seen and from doing stupid stuff that would have started drama with a less laid-back guild)

Don't need loot without asking. Biggest cause of party drama in parties I've been in, where we've actually kicked people from the party for it, even if they were vital to continuing the run. Much loot is soulbound, and if, say, a mage grabs that plate armor that the paladin went on the run to get just to sell it to a vendor. . . bad news. Either greed loot or ask, and need preference defaults to those who can actually use something first.

Don't grab chests. Some parties will agree that all locked stuff goes to the rogue, or that the tank/healer can have the chests as payment. If an agreement like this isn't in place, the usual practice is to ask, if more than one person wants, to use the /roll command, and it's also nice to leave behind stuff you can't use (e.g. mana restore items for warriors and rogues opening chests) for those in your party who can use it.

From my own experience, don't offer to tank if you're just going to get killed in the process. Odds are, in an average party, if you're anything but a paladin or warrior, and you're not at least ten levels above the npc mob, you should NOT be the tank. There are exceptions, but most of the time, you're going to end up repeatedly dead, the healer's going to end up pissed, and no one will be happy.

Also from my own, don't pull more than your party can handle. This is easily done by accident, and it's usually not a big deal for drama if you're somewhat new (as I was when I got five dark iron dwarves on a party in Gnomeregan due to a failed attempt to sap a patrol). However, if you do it on purpose? BAD. Yeah. Bad enough you'll likely get kicked from your party if it survived, and bad enough it will often ruin a run and start drama.

Don't pressure others to grind or play more than they want. We have enough addicts and people with no lives outside the game, and this is at best just horribly rude (it's why my very first guild broke up, someone was pressuring the then guildmaster to show up for EVERY dungeon run and for every raid. . . never mind he had work and a real life @_@) and at worst is encouraging someone to unhealthy behavior.
