I volunteer with the city parks department, scouting a number of nearby nature areas for invasive species and pulling them when I do. The prairie and the conservancy are tiny, only about 2 acres each, but every pile of garlic mustard and dame's rocket I can make is another step toward keeping them completely clean so the native birds and insects can re-establish.

Is garlic mustard edible? Because those are my two favourite spices pretty much and I am appalled that I haven't heard of something that sounds so delicious.

Yes it is, that is the whole reason it is in the United States in the first place. All parts of the plant are edible. It was brought over as a low-effort food crop to aid in subsistence farming. Wash it thoroughly, it grows in the "dog" zone though.

Should go without saying, but we'll say it anyway, it is only invasive outside of Eurasia. On the Eurasian continent it is just a normal part of the ecosystem, and should not be eradicated as it provides food and shelter for many insects over here.
