Obviously this is a recurring sentiment on FS, and I usually scroll by because it is what it is, but tonight I offer for your consideration:

- the collapse of the studio system that scouted and developed new talent through an established network of connections (and abuse)
- increasing consolidation of the corporate entertainment industry
- fluid laws regarding intellectual property and remuneration in the age of streaming
- nepo talent
- AI
- the general lack of attention spans and disposable income in the target 18-34 age range

I would argue that there is no incentive for individuals or entities to produce novel content in 2026, outside of short-form content creation.
