To me it depends on whether or not the thing needs/could really use a reboot or remake. There are plenty of shows and movies and games that were held back by their original budget or the technology of the time and a reboot/remake that had a higher budget or made use of modern technology would really, really make the media in question much better.

But there are also plenty of things that were just fine the way they were and truly don't need to be remade at all.
