Omg same, I thought I was the only one! It was the first place where I lurked to learn fandom etiquette, and at first I thought it was a great resource for new fans.

Now I look back on its aggressively proship, pro-author echo chamber with disdain.

(The way that so many proshippers on there equate critiquing or expressing discomfort with the portrayal of a problematic trope/dynamic in fiction with "I want this banned" or "I believe these fictional characters are REAL people!", or some other strawman is highly obnoxious.)

I fully stopped visiting there when I saw a post where an author had recieved a long comment nitpicking some details in their fic. Given how long it was, it was likely a neurodivergent person. Even if it was out of line with the general "don't like, don't read" etiquette, it was clear the comment took awhile to type, and was indicative of them engaging with the text, likely re-reading it a few times in the process.

The author replied with a long rant insulting them, telling them, "don't like, don't read" in the most passive aggressive, snide, and downright cruel way possible. And when they posted this exchange on Reddit, they were being actively praised for their disproportionate response.

Yeah...I was done.
