I got in a reddit fight because people in my city's sub were misidentifying a phoebe as a chickadee. I don't know if they're just relying on a bad AI summary or what but they're wrong about birds on the internet and now I'm mad.

Anyway I get you - when you don't know the age or background of people swearing that Thing is Hard to Learn, you don't know if they're serious or if they just literally did not grow up learning how to open file trees...or read an abstract, follow a map, read the fuckin manual, etc. It's hard seeing the degradation of conceptual learning in real time.
