For all the love I have for Baldur's Gate 3, I'm really over the very limited and repetitive soundtrack. There are only so many variations of the ~down down down by the river~ melody I can take (I don't actually think it's particularly good to begin with) and every time I start the game, I mute the sound until I loaded the save because I've come to loathe that fucking sound when you switch from the start screen to the main menu.
AAAHHHHHHH - yeah no shut up.
(And for all the fun the voice actor had with it, Raphael's song is just incredibly out of place and annoying, especially when you play on a higher difficulty and the fight drags on and on.)

Ohmigosh hard same. I mute it and either listen to a podcast or play themes for other games. I mean, they spent *so* *much* *money* on production the limited soundtrack is mind boggling.

Oh for real OP. I love the game but the soundtrack is almost aggressively mid, Down by the River is fine but after the 50th time hearing it on repeat I don’t want to hear it again because it’s not that good of a song, and I really liked Rapheal’s song but I have only done his fight twice so far so I haven’t managed to have over-exposure to that one yet.

I can see myself muting the game music in future runs though lmao.

Yeah the music is not this games strong point, it’s just very Generic Fantasy music, which gets the job done but I can’t take anyone who thinks it’s a legitimately good soundtrack seriously. It’s very repetitive and boring.

My main issue with Down By The River is that it's referencing the version of the dream visitor from Early Access that was cut from the game. It just doesn't fit for what the full release's version of the dream visitor does.

Oh yeah, that too. Like, that way it would have at least had some meaning but the way the game turned out, it just turned into "generic bland fantasy song".

You've inspired me to queue up some albums and do a run listening to those (or try to... I'm bad at games).

I guess I just don't care that much. It's all background noise.
