I'm perfectly fine with wanting more Dean-Castiel interaction, namely because the concept of "Dean with people" thrills me to itty bitty bits. Much as I adored 5x03, there could be more moments like those and I'd be pleased as punch. Then again, I also want more Sam-Dean interaction because the "recovery" of the fraternal bond thus far has been more than a little pathetic.

...Actually, can I just request more emotional interaction in general? Preferably with no tears involved, just some nice build up and development?

I'd be fine with Castiel's plotline if we could see anything that he was doing or if we got any results from his quest. As it is, there's absolutely nothing and you're right, it's just an excuse to keep him offscreen at this point. You'd think there would be something in the fact that he's apparently considered the second most dangerous being in the world right now, right after freaking Lucifer. Come on now!

Oh, naturally I want more interaction. In fact, I want it quite a lot. There's a small guilty part of me that says SCREW PLOT, WE SHOULD HAVE WHOLE EPISODES ABOUT SAM-DEAN-CAS BFF SHENANIGANS.

This. It's like they had issues, and then they spent some time apart, and then they talked about their issues, and now their issues are no more. There are some nice nods to how their relationship has changed, with Dean needing Sam to tell him where he's going at the end of 5x07 coming to mind, but it's not as consistently portrayed. So I will second your request for thoughtful emotional interaction, preferably with Castiel being integrated as more than a plot device.

Yeah, exactly. There's a lot they could be doing with him and aren't, for whatever reason; he's being hunted by his own brethren, so when are we gonna see that? Even without giving him screentime away from Dean and Sam, there's more they could be doing; in 5x08, it would have been fascinating to hear Castiel's perspective on Gabriel, but we didn't get a peep. They're not giving us many glimpses into his head these days.
