What is your favorite sandwich to make and eat?

Currently eating a turkey sandwich on sourdough with pepperjack, spinach, lettuce, and garlic aioli.

I love a medianoche! Lots of spicy sauces and cheese. Yum!

I really like classic cucumber sandwiches. Butter mixed with mustard, a bit of lemon juice and chives and really thinly sliced cucumber on white toast.

Bacon, rotisserie chicken, Monterey jack, avocado, lettuce, and mildly spicy mayo (like Nando's Perinaise) on a baguette

So many. Reuben (with corned beef) is up there, turkey and ham, chicken salad, anything club, anything Italian.

Reuben, corned beef and swiss on rye with homemade Thousand Island dressing. But the price of deli meats these days makes it a rare treat.

Peanut butter and banana is probably my all time fave. I eat it for dinner at least once a week.

My closest second is homemade chicken salad sandwich. I don’t actually like chicken salad but make a concoction similar in appearance, texture, and function using a bit of homemade chicken gravy, toasted pine nuts, celery bits, a little chopped spinach, cracked peppercorns, and sweet potato plus shredded chicken. It’s so ridiculously good and my nutritionist approves so it’s a staple during the week for me.

I don't make as many sandwiches as I could but ones I enjoy:
good old PB&J (especially the way my husband does it, with lots of peanut butter)
roast beef and blue cheese on sourdough with salad greens and basil mayo (local deli)
french dip with blue cheese (Philippe the Original, worth visiting if you ever go to Los Angeles).

I have 2:

1. Turkey, onion slices, pickles (or pickled something or relish), proscuto or bacon, and cilantro.

2. tuna made with mayo and relish, onion, melted cheddar or mozzarella cheese,

For both either a sesame roll or sourdough bread. And onions are a must because I love onion.

Melted cheese, ham, mustard and lettuce sandwich.
But when it gets near Christmas, there's a food shop that sells turkey sandwiches with a really delicious stuffing and cranberry sauce that I love to get once a week.

toasted tomato and bacon (buttered toast anykind except white bread but favourite is dark rye/pumpernickel).

Love a turkey meatloaf on rosemary bread, which is what I've been doing lately, though only because I had the meatloaf.

Other sandwiches I make... usually it's tuna, maybe with cheese (usually cheddar if so). Made a chicken parm sandwich but that's not usual. I enjoy a turkey-stuffing-cranberry sauce sandwich after Thanksgiving.

Egg and cheese on an everything bagel I LOVE. With chicken or vegetarian sausage if I have it.

Veggie burger with fajita veggies.

I love a jam sandwich, with either cream cheese or cashew butter. Or just butter.

Grilled cheese, of course-- my mom and I made some fancy grilled cheese together a while back for a family thing. I can't remember what fancy cheese we put on the rosemary bread but the other one was cheddar apple.


I can't digest red meat, don't eat pork, and am allergic to peanuts, which limits me somewhat, but there are still a lot of good sandwiches out there.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

I'm not feeling well but just hoping it is allergies. I have a new book to start reading and my sister wants to run some dungeons on WoW. I'll also be trying to go on a walk if the weather permits (raining a lot here).

Getting together with some work friends to watch an online seminar for our field. I am kind of regretting committing because I have so much stuff to do at the house and it feels like I am wasting a day, but I know I'll have a good time.

Hope you feel better! The pollen has exploded here and my allergies are going haywire.

Relaxing and spending time outside, the weather is nice right now and I've been going out dancing a lot the last few weekends, which is very fun but physically intense, so I want to do something calm in nature, and maybe go to a museum or gallery?

Sleep. I'm so behind on sleep right now. And picking out outfits for photo shoot with boss on Wednesday. Supposed to bring 3 on monday for them to pick between.

My mother and I have been doing a Grey's Anatomy rewatch. Just started season 3.

Bestie and I are doing brunch tomorrow, not sure where yet, we'll see what we wind up with. After that, mostly just video games and napping.

Is there a sub on reddit like booksuggestions or booksthatfeellikethis but for fic? Or some general fic search community? Doesn't have to be reddit.

One of the many things I miss from LJ days, so many ways to find lost fic or find genre or type suggestions or rec lists.
