I kind of feel like that's the point? It's supposed to have a "sexy but still commercial romance novel adaptation" vibe, not be actual porn...

I'd argue that 'sexy' and 'boring' are not generally terms that coexist.

If I find a scene sexy, I'm not likely to be bored, even if it's otherwise paint-by-numbers commercial. If I find a scene boring, I'm not likely to be turned on, no matter how much naked manflesh is on display.

I meant sexy in the sense of literally there’s sex in it, as opposed to a fade to black approach to an romance book adaptation you might get on, say, network television, not that everyone would find it “sexy”.
