Yeah, I am not a hater of non-water-beverages, but I do think it should be a moderation thing. Water is generally (but not necessarily in all situations) the healthiest thing you can drink. I'm sure there are varied and valid reasons why some people can't or won't drink primarily water, but straight up refusing to EVER drink water because it's boring is kind of ridiculous. OP mentioned that it's expensive, so I assume this might be some kind of financial burden, or at minimum, a fairly large expense that could be cut back. And depending on whether or not the partner is drinking sugar-free stuff, there can be health consequences too if they are drinking large amounts of sugar.

Those types of drinks are definitely not cheap, though it depends on how much OP's partner is drinking per day. I've known plenty of people who knock back 6-8 cans of pop on a hot day, which is insane to me both for the sugar intake and the expense.
