The 710mlx6 bottles are the cheapest I find in my area, if that helps. If they try to buy those mini cans or whatever else, tell them to go the more affordable route. (given those are over twice the price of the bottles, in my area) If they refuse, well, a cup of black tea has 90mg of caffeine which is pretty much twice as much as a 710ml bottle of sugar free/full sugar coke.
Fresca might be a good alternative, or even another clear carbonated drink. Hell, ask them water down any of their favourite drink to start, and increase the percentage a little bit each time.
