I selfship with a relatively popular character. But when I scroll through the character tag, I sometimes get weirdly jealous. Not because of the ship art, as I am a sharer, but more jealous of the sheer quantity and quality of other fans' output in general. It takes me forever to make a decent artwork.

So I made a habit of scrolling through the anti character tag. Even some of the bashing was kind of funny, and there were some decent points made in meta. I think it also made me feel less like one of many unremarkable fans in the crowd who likes the character. But lately it's been making me sad, but I've become oddly addicted to the dopamine it gets me, so I keep going back...

Not quite the same, but similar. I've become a little addicted to fandom confession tumblr blogs, particular one for my fandom. At first it was just interesting to read people's vents, but it started leaving me bitter, so I finally blocked it for my sake.

Maybe walk away from either tag for a while and focus in making stuff for yourself. Hard at first but the better thing long term.

Sure. But there’s fantasizing about fucking a fictional character and then there’s the indication of potentially concerning mental health issues as seen in this secret. Also not anything new in fandom but I still hope OP gets some help.
