Everyone assumes that because I love competitive baking shows, I must like Nailed It!

Truth is, I find it unwatchable. It's jarring, too loud, and obnoxious.

Agreed. I tried it when it first came out... nah.

Yeah, it’s not for me either.

In addition to how loud and obnoxious I find it, I generally like competition shows because you get to see people flex their skills and Nailed It has none of that.

But I do have a better appreciation for Nicole Byer now that I’ve seen clips of her doing other things.

having seen all of Nailed it (minus holidays and other countries specials), I think Nicole Byer was given the note "don't be so loud" after the first season. she toned it down...some. still loud, but not like holy shit girl calm down loud. honestly? the one season they did that was an actual baking pro competition was lame. the concept only works by showcasing and uplifting terrible amateurs who are sincerely trying but still failing.

I almost auditioned because I'm a mediocre baker but the amount of video work they wanted you to submit was a huge put-off. I'm not doing their job of editing my own home videos before submission, it's a goddamn netflix show.
