My primary migraine trigger is smells so I feel this rant in my bones. I've had migraines since I was 8 and I've always been extremely sensitive to smells in general. I'm now 40 and my family still doesn't understand/find it in themselves to be considerate about it.
I hate it so much. Like, I love several floral scents and perfumes but I still get migraines from them, it's fucking sad. I honestly get headaches less than 30 seconds after being exposed to a scent I'm sensitive to (which is... a lot of them). Hell, I can't even drink jasmine tea because of the smell and I fucking love jasmine.

I'm the same way. I do get headaches/nausea from scents that I actually like. I rarely buy candles anymore because sometimes, even though they smell good, they will trigger a headache, occasionally even a migraine. I have a few safe ones I have to stick to. It really is shitty because I love the smell of lemon, but most lemon candles give me a really intense headache that will develop into a migraine if I continue to be exposed to it.
