Tobey Maguire has never really done anything for me - I find him a decent to good actor, but I have zero attraction to any of his characters (it's not just his appearance, it's also his mannerisms and the way he plays them). However, I could get on board with young Sam Waterston and Robert Redford versions of the characters.

did you see the 70's version of Gatsby with Robert Redford? I'm old enough to remember it getting a lot of publicity at the time but you could say the same thing about ANY 70's movie that had Robert Redford in it.

Also I agree. He's not bad, but idk this is probably about as good looking as I've seen him. lol, probably why I didn't recognize him.

Ivenever really thought much about it but you're right. There is something oddly nuetral or nonsexual about him. I think he's a decent actor but never really thought of his characters (or him) much with romance.
