Eh, it just depends for me. If the guy's a lost cause, yeah, forget it. But if I see potential, such as, maybe he's already somewhere on his journey and she just brings out the better part of him. Or maybe she's the catalyst for his change but doesn't spend the story playing mommy, it's on him to do the work until he's worthy of her (and even then, that doesn't mean she owes him a relationship).

But I agree that it's bullshit if her needs and feelings are never considered. I also think that at any time, she shouldn't be holding out for a guy who's just sitting there like a lump.
