Yeah, sadly I have a friend where we used to be in fandom together and I'm kind of on the edge of it now (I just haven't really had a fandom grab me since MCU and don't really watch TV or movies much these days) they have gotten to the point where it is all they do outside (and even during) work. It went from a fun coping mechanism/hobby to an unhealthy obsession. This friend hasn't really reached the point of shutting me out, but we don't meet up physically anymore because they say they're busy but what they really mean is they can't miss out on their fandom posts or writing fanfic.
