I think it's most likely a result of when and where you were raised. I was raised in the south during the no-fat craze, and healthy food was considered salad (just lettuce and cabbage, maybe some carrot) with no dressing at all. Oatmeal made with water with no additions at all. Rice with baked chicken and (you guessed it) no dressing at all. While we may know better now, it's not a wonder that people raised in this environment have an immediate association that healthy food is tasteless.
