Re: How do you open up the "Hey, I think I've been depressed lately" conversation with your doctor?

Doctors are normally not happy when you self-diagnose (no matter how accurate you are!) so it's usually better to talk about the symptoms, as you have done in most of this comment. Then the doctor can consider blood tests to rule out a physical cause like low iron, hypothyroidism, sleep issues or low B-12, or think about possible depression.

Thanks for this because I have had bad pmdd for years now but also low iron and low B12 that nothing could fix and sleep issues arising from stress and borderline hypothyroidism so maybe all of this explains my everyday fight to live better than just oh, depression, except antidepressants cause fucking MANIC SWITCH
