Hell, if anything, the parents I remember making the biggest fuss about HP back in the day were the ones who were all, "THESE BOOKS PROMOTE WITCHCRAFT AND ANTI-CHRISTIAN VALUES THEY WILL CORRUPT OUR CHILDREN!" The parents that were chill about it weren't really making much noise one way or another.

Very much this! I never heard parents talking about HP other than the ones who were convinced it was going to lead children straight to the devil. Which was insane then and still is now. Floored me though how many did a "not in my house!" and forbid their kids from reading the books. Pretty sure that backfired on a lot of them, as know many who once they were forbidden from reading the books did so in secret to see what was so horrible about them.
