Harry Potter was a huge influence in our lives. We, as a family, would read the books together, theorize about what would happen and why, and what might happen in the future. It allowed my kids to learn how to lay out data to support their theories. We treated the books as a seven novel mystery, tbh.
Yes, JKR is a complete and utter bigot and we no longer support her in any way, but I don’t want to discount how the books influenced us. Were they great literature? No, but they were influential. I refuse to participate in the hindsight BS y’all are doing lately.
