Have you ever experienced being a millennial weeb, who collects stuff they like, and there's not much of a pattern or coherence but then you get into looking at pictures of itabeyas online (half of which are likely AI made to sell stuff, the rest are rich children's rooms with their coherent color schemes - fuck, this girl SHIPPED FURNITURE to match her oshis COLOR - and you stare at your own room, manga collections that look like dirty rainbows in different sizes, figures in every scale ever and every color ever of every anime you liked in the past 20 years and not one manufacturer is the same and go damn can't find a theme. the Aesthetic Itabeya ideal they sold to me on socmed is an unattainable dream for the non super rich. And then you spend months trying to find a theme and arranging and rearranging and buying stuff and you can't find one so you sit and cry bebcause I'm at this stage (it's more dramatic because I should be worrying about stuff like job roof and food but THIS s what annoys me badly)

My collection is for me, not Aesthetic posting. Get off social media and instagram, they just want to sell you stuff. Same for interior decoration magazines.

My apartment looks like a cross between a bookshop, flea market and grandma's house. Every piece of furniture has a story, every manga was bought and read because I like it, figurines aren't a matching set but meaningful gifts and favourite characters only. Be free of consumerism, be yourself, enjoy your stuff for yourself, not imagined socmed likes!
