I read Marvel Comics for years and was very much into the MCU so I was initially really stoked to see what they'd do with him. I remember people wondering if we'd get a hint of his obsessed with literal death... instead we got a dude with the dumbest plan ever which bred some of the most brain-dead edgelord 'reasoning' for why he was actually a genius and not a colossal moron(with writers who thought they were being oh so clever).

It's clear Fiege and team wanted to skirt away from the 'silly' he's in love with death thing, but I maintain that would have actually fucking worked. The 'kill half of a planet' thing was so stupid, and hello no planet had heroes to come kick his ass in all that time? At least in the comics he was straight up nuking EVERYONE on a planet and left pretty much no survivors. It's not crazy genius but it's sure as fuck smarter than leaving half the universe with a grudge against you.
