I actually really enjoyed the 2013 Great Gatsby filmed adaptation. I thought it was fun, stylish, emotional, and Dicaprio did a great job, as did Tobey. Purists may sneer at the soundtrack, but I have it downloaded.

I still believe the shapeshifter character in Star Trek VI was only written into the script in order to have their death be used as trailer-bait. It is so blatant, and their death so perfunctory and at odds with the construction of the rest of the plot that that is the only explanation.

I know he was meant to be the child friendly star of the show, as the shy insecure nerd/schoolboy, but I never did relate to Wellington Womble. I always loved Orinoco Womble and Great Uncle Bulgaria more. Wellington was just too boring.

I have so much nostalgia for the original He-Man cartoon because I used to watch it with my little brother on Saturday mornings. I don't think the show would stand the test of time and it was pretty corny, I'll admit.

But the theme song still slaps. I heard it for the first time it years when the 2026 He-Man trailer dropped and got all teary-eyed. Now I need to call my little brother. (We're both in our 40s now.)

I always thought Orinoco was supposed to be the child-friendly star of the show. Have I been interpreting it wrong for all these years?

I've been doing this for over a decade, not because of the grimdark, obvi, but because endings have been migrating from actually being part of the story to being a spectacle or shock, and having nothing to do with the themes of the story at all. It just ruins all the characterization, plots, and themes for the whole thing and I found myself getting angry at putting all that time into something that was going to be trashed at the last minute.
