Oh god, I hated Derek because of his "Well, what else is there" bit. YEAH HE GOT BETTER BUT SRSLY, WTF DUDE.

He's a great villain, but I think Derek realized what he did wrong and really cared for her, he had his whole life to fall in love with her and in the one chance he had to tell her before she was captured, he just totally fucked it up and said the complete wrong thing.

I have only watched the first movie in the series(didn't know it was a trilogy until much later), but I still remember how I thought the villains demon form(at least I think he turned into a demon-something-or-other at the end of the movie. Unless memory is playing a trick on me)was the coolest thing ever. It's been years since I saw the movie tho', so I don't know if it's as cool as I remember it >.>

BUT SUPER YES AGREED ON THE SONG THING. There're a few Disney villain songs that are just as good, but "No More Mr. Nice Guy" is absolutely fantastic.

...Disney or not, it doesn't have to be a secret that he's awesome, does it?! T_T

Oh Rothbart, you kook. When I was little I would positively shriek with delight when he was on the screen, because he was such a fun/crazy villain. Favorite animated movie, I have to say, and this is from someone who loves Disney and Anastasia.

Oh man, No More Mr. Nice Guy is one of my favorite villain songs on the planet next to Be Prepared and Second Rate.

...yeah. I kind of agree. I mean, I don't think he's better than every Disney villian, but he holds his own with oh-so-much pizzazz. And while I think Odette and Derek "deserved" each other...yeah, that little two-second scene always makes me kinda ship it just a wee bit.

BTW, do you know Dr. John has friggen sweet cover of his villian-song?

I did like The Swan Princess as a kid. But I agree, Derek and Odette didn't make much of a couple.

He was a pretty funny villain. His song was awesome. I found him more interesting than Odette and Derek--maybe it was just me, but I found both of them to just be stupid teenagers. I didn't think their love made any sense.

He is HILARIOUS. ♥

This movie is made of win simply by virtue of having Stephen Wright voicing a comic-relief character. That is just... genius.
