Re: Train Rides

(Anonymous) 2026-05-20 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I still haven’t made it to Hungary yet *cries* Budapest to Prague would be amazing!

I’ve done smaller train rides than the ones I listed. In Slovenia we took two alpine train rides but I don’t remember the details. They were sightseeing loops though and we were holidaying in Bled. I think we had to travel by taxi for only maybe twenty minutes for one and maybe 45 minutes to an hour for the other. And of course we did Zermatt and the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn was wonderful but also it reminded me of the Pike’s Peak cog railway in Colorado which honestly was a little more interesting. And whenever we were on holiday in Copenhagen we would get the city pass and always spent a day riding the trains exploring the surrounding area. The city pass gives (or gave) free access to the metro train up to like zone five which was a very, very large area. We got off in Helsingborg, Denmark and discovered there was a ferry to Helsingor, Sweden so after visiting the palace we went to Sweden on a whim for a few hours. I’ve also taken the Chunnel and it was a very strange and uncomfortable but cool experience. I was in an American car so getting off the train was not easy and I had to idle the whole way when everyone else was flying off at like 80 kmh LOL
