Years ago, I was excited for Peaky Blinders. I also enjoyed Boardwalk Empire a lot and I've always loved Cillian Murphy in anything I watched him in. IIRC I watched until close to the end of season 2 or partway through season 3. None of the characters really captured me and it felt more like a chore to watch the show than was enjoyable to watch.

I think it's one of the shows where you have barely if any likeable characters. I don't mind unlikable characters, but when that's the whole cast, I have no interest in the show. Same reason I hated GoT.

AYRT
I actually love shows with unlikeable characters. But I do prefer for there to be a level of nuanced insight to said terrible people's lives. Considering there wasn't any character I can recall, I think Peaky Blinders' delivery with their characters wasn't connecting with me.

I loved Game of Thrones early. Hated Cersei Lannister but I was engrossed with seeing where the show was going with her. I saw the shit hand she was dealt with an unloving and resentful husband and I saw how much she loved her children. I didn't want to see Cersei win, in fact I often wanted to see her be killed off...but she was compelling. I was stunned at the levels she went to in order to try to get the upper hand and to do what she considered the best for her family.

But yeah. Something in Peaky Blinders wasn't connecting =(
