Genocide is the wrong choice of words here, but I disagree with the rest. We need to stop treating the word genocide like it only means the Holocaust. Most genocides don't involve everything that went on leading up to and inside the Nazi concentration camps. That doesn't mean calling them genocide is watering down the word. Any attempt to eliminate a race or ethnicity's existence is a genocide, and if more of them were called that, more people would take them as seriously as they should.

As for trans people, we can't be eliminated by genocide, but there's also nothing watered down about the attempts to get rid of us.
