I am a big fan of the Ambiguous Omegaverse Genitalia. I like an omega with a vagina, but if he's a dude I think he can also have a dick, you know? I think his situation doesn't need to be analagous to the standard perisex equipment. But I also vibe with just using words like 'hole' and 'opening' and leaving it as readers' choice what we're talking about here, because some people really do need that cloaca.

Anyway, to answer the original question, NOTHING is popular in the fandom I'm currently fixated on, but my main fandom that current hyperfixation is kind of a satellite of there's definitely some omegaverse. It's still a smaller fandom but people do want to see the main boy pregnant. Sometimes that means giving him a cloaca, sometimes it means giving him a vagina (omegaverse), sometimes that means giving him a vagina (normal style).

(I can't actually imagine writing an omegaverse fic for my current fixation anyway. I can assign characters designations but like I can't quite even get to the point of saying 'well and the plot would be that X goes into heat on a very inconvenient night' without laughing at myself)

I think the power dynamics are what I like about omegaverse, I don't have a strong preference for one way of handling the genital biology and don't need a ton of details. Makes sense it would be a big deal for a lot of readers!
