I tried to go back and rewatch Top Model for the laughs and nostalgia but damn....the faphobia was OUTRAGEOUS. I literally could not deal. That shit is poison to the brain and self esteem

Through tumblr, I discovered an Luke/Mara fanfic from the late nineties called As simple and as complicated as all that. It was posted on Fanfix (you can still find it on archive.org).
I read it by curiosity and it's weird: the gender politics are all over the place and Mara is a tsundere.
I wish I could find what people thougth of it at the time because apparently it was one of the first long nc-17 fic for that pairing and it tried to deal with subjects like abortion/abuse.
Does anyone remember it? Was it popular? Or just controversial?

I wish I knew how to find fandom friends to talk about NSFW stuff with. I'm already too socially awkward to make fandom friends in general, but finding people I can talk about scenarios, kinks, and "damn, X is hot" when I'm not sexually open in general feels impossible. It's just hard to gauge when it's appropriate to bring this up. I've been sexually harassed and fetishmined in online spaces before, and I don't want to misread social cues and unknowingly do that to someone else.

So I just... keep my dirty thoughts to myself, even the vanilla ones.

S!B: I'm too old to struggle with social interactions like this. People also usually say "it's valid that you're reserved about sex" but I'm personally not happy being that way and wish I could be "wild and free" like others are.

TPTB reeeeeally scored a big one casting Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

I feel like teenage girls are gonna go from "ugh Harry Potter is lame" to "OMGWTFBBQ" within 2-3 episodes. Especially since they're fleshing out Draco's character.

This is a blast from the past, but I keep hearing the song on the radio so I'm saying it.

When The Pussycat Dolls covered Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) from Slumdog Millionaire, they must have done it without ever once hearing the original. I don't know how many times the backing track says "jai ho", but they insist on singing "jay ho" and it comes across really ignorant and disrespectful.

I suppose it’s possible it’s just one person posting them to upset but that never occurred to me because Harry Potter has been one of the most popular things for close to 30 years. It seems far more likely that there are real Harry Potter fans posting real Harry Potter secrets.

I avoid all HP news outside of FS so I hadn't seen Draco's actor yet, and yeah, I can pretty safely bet my teenage self would have been into him. (I am trans. My teenage self had no idea I was trans or what being trans was. If I'd been born years later and was a teenager today... actually, I don't have the energy to think about that.)

Also love the "OMGWTFBBQ," nice bit of nostalgia there.
