I kinda did this for different reasons, turned out for me that F/F is super easy to ship when there are two female main characters with their own storylines who aren't only "someone else's love interest"

It was just that series that have two female main characters specifically, as opposed to 1f+1m, female lead+some female side characters, or 'everyone is an ensemble', were harder to find
