I mean... what do you get out of creating with AI for fandom?
Is it a need to participate? To not feel left out in fandom circles? Is it a fear of having work that's seen as 'bad' if you were to do it all by yourself?

Most of fandom works is a passion for the thing they like and maybe getting praised for the craft they took time to make. Do you want to be praised for typing something that gets results or for doing half the work?

Genuinely, what would your ideal response be for contributing AI fanwork?

I mean, depending on the size of the fandom, you might put a lot of time and energy into something and never get any response. My fandom has been running on fumes for the better part of a decade, and though ten years ago I'd be lucky to get a few likes on a fic - no comments though - I'd get no response mostly and it's completely zapped any desire I have to write or contribute in any way.

Ai is used in my fandom. I've seen people use it to make insta-slash fic (extra smutty), "high school" year book pictures based on photos of them when they were 25, not the actual photos we have of them as teens, and your garden variety "cute boys fucking each other" pics. Also ai song covers which I think is the worst way to use it in a bandom - but what bandom respects a musician if they're using ai to create text and images of them fucking their bandmates?

Is it illegal to make ai porn of real life male celebs. I know in some places it is if it's a woman, but does it go the other way. Should it go the other way?

Or is that something we're not supposed to think about...the moral implications of sexualising male celebrities?

male or female, making AI porn of anyone without their consent is fucking gross.

(Anonymous) 2026-06-07 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Ew. Its still gross to make a creepy deepfake regardless if they're a man or a woman.

(Anonymous) 2026-06-07 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Way to miss the point of the fucking question

(Anonymous) 2026-06-07 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
Someone doesn't like being called out for making creepy AI porn of male celebrities I see.

nayrt

Just gonna point out, if a law "protects" women from something, but not men?

That implies protection isn't the real purpose of the law.

Anti-deepfake and revenge porn laws protect all genders.

(Anonymous) 2026-06-07 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Laws about AI porn apply to all genders, yes.
