Awww, don't keep silent, anon. It may not be the same -- especially if you're still daydreaming about the characters you used to play together -- but if it was the boring and cliche story that made her/him want to drop it, how about giving it an update, or starting something new? Figure out what about it was less than appealing and either start over with a similar-but-not-the-same RP (kinda like a second draft?) or a different storyline that you can play around with and won't be so stale. You guys may still have some good RP years ahead of you, if you did something you enjoyed so much before!
