lol, I don't ship them either, but really? Saying that Dean doesn't consider Castiel to be a friend is downright delusional. Sure, they might not be ~*so in love*~, but considering that Cas was one of two people Dean could turn to when Sam was having issues led them to develop trust and friendship. Castiel is Dean's friend. If you don't see that . . . what show have you been watching?

And as for the "angel up our sleeve" comment . . . Dean had other things to think about at the time, y'know. Like . . . not getting mauled by hellhounds. Trying to find Lucifer. Yeah, he was worried about Cas, but at the moment Dean was in Mission Mode. Dean in Mission Mode means that Dean is continuing on with the Mission even if they are Screwed.

Which they were, so yeah.
