I'm debating mowing the lawn. It needs to be done and it's finally not so humid you start sweating as soon as you step outside and it's light out forever, but on the other hand I don't want to.

What're you up to today?

Ahh that was me like two hours ago! My husband and I split the work and ended up getting the mowing done. Now just chilling on the screened porch after dinner. We grilled fish for the first time this year; it’s usually too hot and humid to be out here or use the grill.

My mother just offered me a trip to the North Texas Safari park and a session feeding a capybara for my birthday this year. Already excited.

Also, got compliments at work on a brief and told by my boss she was proud of me. And we had a potential client come in who got massively upsold on me by a former client, so she is insisting I be the one at all her hearings.

And the yearly immigration lawyers conference starts tomorrow, it is my first year going, and I'm super excited because I'm a nerd who loves learning and getting better at my job.

Oh, also ordered Mediterranean food for dinner.

And that conference sounds like a blast. Are you traveling for it or is it close to your home?

It is in San Francisco, but I'm doing it virtually. One of of our attorneys is going in person, and it will be my turn next year. :)

And yes, it sounds so fun. I just love animals and anything involving animals. I used to go to the aquarium during law school when I was stressed. I love going to zoos. And of course i love kitties, especially my snuggly girl. But animals in general just make me happy. My mom knows me well.

Oof, my condolences, mowing the lawn always sucks. I hope you had a great evening whether or not the lawn got mowed!

I went on a brief run this morning, went to work, cooked a bunch of meals and snacks for my hubby's diet, cleaned a bunch, took care of the garden, had a meeting, and now it's video game + dreamwidth time.

Getting on my soapbox to scream about how Age Regression and De-Aging should not be a shared tag.

Oh man, that's a thing? That would be annoying. I don't go looking for either things, but to me age regression would mean staying physically same age but mentally younger while de-aging would be physically being younger.

Yes OMG. I love de-aging and hate age regression. I hate them being the same tag!

Mostly I just hate tumblr-style tagging. I also hate it whenever someone tags a ship in a fic where they are hating on the ship, especially if they don't make it obvious in the summary.

I recently ran into a small study that showed that tumblr style tagging, even among people who hate it, makes people more likely to open the fic.

So interesting do you have a link?

I see tumblr style rambling in tags I keep scrolling, same as I would for tags that go on and on and on, but I know I am not exactly the majority type of person in a lot of these cases.

I'll see if I can find it again, but no promises. I found it on tumblr, which, ironically, has the shittiest tagging and search system ever.

Oh wow that IS shocking! I’m another who won’t open it. I won’t even read the summary. I see the wall of tags and scroll until I get away from it.

See, I love a conversational tag if they're used judiciously-- I don't want the whole tag set to be that way, but if the tag still conveys information, I can't say I'm more or less likely to open the fic.

"No beta we die like (canon character death)" and then it's a very recent, spoiler character death. I used to find this tag amusing but the spoilers got a bit much.

I really hate the inconsistent myriad of different AU tags. Also a lot of people can't differentiate between AU and canon divergence.

Also, I shouldn't have to exclude every vagina related word to avoid the cuntboy fic. Just use the damn trans or cuntboy tags (whichever applies).
