The only flaw I see in that logic is that you could say that about most, if not all of the characters added after the first game. Like the myriad of Ansems running around. And Riku. And possibly Ven.

The thing about Xion that sets her apart from the rest is that her story, as far as we know thus far, is self-contained. Ven, Riku, etc. all directly impact the plots of future games. You can removove Xion as well as all of Days from the franchise and nothing would change.

Actually, that's not true. She impacts Roxas and Axel as people, which in turn, influences the plot. She is the very reason that Roxas left the organization. It's hole-filling.

Before Days came along, Roxas's reasons for leaving were that he wanted to learn more about Sora and the keyblade. Xion was added afterwards and honestly, his KH2 reasons were perfectly acceptable. She impact Roxas and Axel in Days, but her "impact" is nonexistant in KH2. I'm not saying that she's not important in Days, but you can easily take it out of the series and nothing would change.

Yes, but Xion LED him to those thoughts. And whether she impacts anything or not, which I honestly believe he does, does not make her useless or a sue. It's really very hard to be a sue in Nomura!verse, because everbody is so extraordinary.
