I honestly can't understand why on earth you should be embarrassed for loving them so much, OP. There's a reason their music is still so inspiring and they're so loved after - yeesh, what - 40 years?

I'm going to have to agree with you on this secret, anon.

2009 sucked hardcore for me too. There was just so much that happened in my personal life... but it was such a great year for the Beatles. Whenever I felt really angry or depressed, I know that all I had to do is push a button and listen to their music. (Either that, or open up Beatlepics and hit F5 every .3 seconds for a lovely spam.) I wish there were words that could describe how much they really really meant to me this past year and more.

But like everyone says, don't be ashamed of the music you love! The Beatles are a great band and you should be proud to call yourself a fan. All you need is love, man.

It's the same for me, but there's no reason to be embarrassed by it! I mean, I practically advertise it.

Don't be embarrassed about your love for the Fabs! I'm not, and I've gotten more shit for it than I can possibly remember.

Some months of 2009 were difficult for me, too. And their music was the only thing that kept me from strangling someone or screaming in frustration!

I find it ridiculous when people say that, but really: are you me? I could have written that secret. There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of! On the contrary. Artists are there to inspire us, and comfort us, and I'm glad you found the Beatles during this hectic year.

No matter how much you love the Beatles, it's definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Loving My Chemical Romance too hard? Be embarrassed. The Beatles? No.

What's embarrassing about loving The Beatles? Some of my fondest childhood memories are riding with my dad in his truck, blaring songs by The Beatles, The Eagles, and The Beach Boys. Oldies music is the soundtrack of my childhood; I don't see what's so embarrassing about it. :/

We gave my mom the remastered album collection for Christmas, and she and I had a really nice night staying up late listening to the records and talking about her memories of them. :) She got all teary and practically squeed when she got the present. It was great. :D

So yes, the Beatles have the power to bring together the generations.

There's nothing wrong with loving the Beatles and shouting that Love over the rooftops of the world!

*grins* Having an iPod loaded with the Beatles is what keeps me going every night at work. That 200+ song playlist is my happy place.
