I mostly lurk in this fandom ('cause I mostly lurk in most fandoms, not 'cause of the fandom), but it never fails to amaze me how awesome it is. I love how active it still is, how good-natured everyone seems to be, the reread discussions, and, hell yes, I love the Uncensored Radio Drama.

And also REISSUES COMIN' UP. (*is maybe ridiculously excited about that.)

Reissues!!? OMG, I've only bought up to about number 17 due to lack of pocket money back in the day, if they're being reprinted my bank accounts going to take a battering.

It's been rumored for a while, now finally confirmed; Scholastic is reissuing the books with new covers (at the very least; it's rumored they may do some content editing, fix continuity errors, update pop-culture references, etc., but not confirmed either way) to test the waters for an Animorphs 2.0 series.

I'm so excited about this, not gonna lie. <3 <3 <3 And am probably going to wind up spending a bunch of money I don't have to get them.

That's my problem with this kind of canon - I can't afford to buy serials. I can barely afford to buy books in general.

I think when they were first released I was still getting about a dollar a week pocket money, which was about 50-60 cents American.

Yeah, my pocket money was rather random, and I could only get the books whenever I could convince my mother to buy them for me. She eventually got fed up, and there is so many other things you need to buy as a kid like sweets and things.

I hope the reissues are in omnibus editions, it would help make things a bit more affordable.

I lurk too, mostly because it's been at least eight years since I read the books, and I barely remember what most of them are about. lol. I fully plan on re-reading the whole series later this year though, so I'll probably be more active once I know what the hell is going on.

I'm excited about the reissues too. Though like I said in the post over at the animorphs comm, I already own all of the originals, so if there aren't any editorial changes there won't be any point to me buying them.
