The brain bleach ending, paired with my knowledge of what happened to some of the cast and crew, does make Manos an unsettling film for me.

Not a good one, though, by a long shot.

Hmm... I thought that more cast members committed suicide (such as the actress of the wife), but really it was only the actor for Torgo. Most of the other cast never worked in movies again, however.

This piece of trivia from IMDB amused me:

"SPOILER: After the premiere in El Paso, a middle-aged woman attacked Harold P. Warren with her purse. The woman was upset that the little girl, Debbie, becomes one of the master's wives at the end."

This is hilarious---I don't know what the people involved looked like, but I can imagine it easily, and it's awesomely funny!

I thought the Make-Out Lady killed herself, along with Torgo. However:

While Manos is probably the worst movie I've ever seen, there is something creepy about the whole thing. It just leaves me feeling unsettled. The MST3K boys said it best, "every frame of this looks like someone's last known photo."

*Dies* I forgot that line. So sad, but so true. Really, what made MST3K so funny was how perceptive they were. Everyone in Manos just looked like they were having such a bad time.

The girl who played Debbie said she had a blast. Although looking back on it as an adult must be really unsettling for her. One of the things I remember from an interview with her is that she said that at the time, she thought the guy who played Torgo was the funniest guy, and later found out he was high the entire time.
