You can be happy without believing in life after death or divine beings. You can enjoy life for what it is without seeing it as a means to get to Heaven, Paradise, Nirvana or anything else. You can be a good person because you just want to do what's right, not to avoid the rage of any god or to please any greater powers. I'm not an atheist myself, so don't take this as an attempt to "win you over" or something, because it's not. Just don't push yourself. If you find reasons to believe, do so. But don't be afraid to question your faith or even abandon it if it doesn't feel right anymore. I don't think you'd feel any better just going through the motions.
