I did too. I really enjoyed season one and was looking forward to the second but I floundered through a few episodes and I didn't care for Jane's attitude. It's like he reverted in his characterization and he was condescending and annoying. I guess other stuff happened, but enough didn't that I just can't watch anymore.

That's so funny! I lost interest too, but it was because I couldn't stand how Jane was treated! I felt he'd showed his skills and they still didn't give him the respect he deserved.

Hey, thats cool! And yeah, if you really can't get into it anymore, get new friends, like luisa_f said. Even though I still love and watch the Mentalist, I do agree that the beginning of the season was kinda boring.

But...if you watch nothing else from the Mentalist ever again, there was this episode in season 2 called "His Red Right Hand" and it is seriously heart-stopping. Like no joke, you're sitting on the edge of your seat the entire time. It was fantastic! It was the best Mentalist episode I have ever seen!

Yeah, this season really lacks the quirkiness and awesomeness of the first one. There seems to be something lacking, and leaden, in the writing and characterizations lately. I still watch, but it doesn't thrill me the way the first season did, and this makes me so sad. :(

I feel kinda the same way. There's something about the second season that just doesn't feel right... I think it's a combination of Jane's attitude and the puzzling way people are reacting to it. I would do my darnest to watch each episode of the first season, but this time around I've just gotten to the point where I... really don't care as much :|
