I want so much for you to be her.

And if it is you, recall what I told you about this happening before. When you shared stories about your neighborhood friend of several years hurting you, I told you my former best friend of six doing the same.

When she stopped talking to me and made excuses out of the blue, it hurt me so much. I tried so hard to keep reaching out to her, kept trying, and to just find out why or what I was doing wrong. She wouldn't even grant me that.

What hurt most was I saw how much she didn't care that I was hurting.

That's what is stopping me from trying again. The pain of just losing a friend is less than the pain of losing and seeing that they don't care. I'm too scared to try again only to find out you don't care.

And I don't know if you are her.

I bet there are a lot of people that are in your shoes, OP. I was. But I found that usually people who treat you like that aren't worth your time.

Maybe it's because I "tried again" a few times before I realized what a shitty person my "friend" really was.

The last time this happened to me was with a friend I knew for six years. It really hurt and I also tried and tried so hard not to let it happen. It really. . .really sucks.

I hate that it is happening again. And I guess it will just happen again in a few more years.

I was recently dropped by someone I thought was a good friend and yeah, there's jealousy, enough that I don't read their journal anymore. I find that getting any evidence of them out of my field of vision really helps to not focus on the past and think about the better friends I'll make in the future.

The first large spike of jealousy I had made me stop reading their journal too. I didn't want to. I had put it off for a couple of months. It certainly did help. . .made this secret shortly after.

Seriously, this is exactly how I've felt for the last few months or so. I've been wanting to confront them but A) don't really have a way to do so and B) I don't want to end it.

My "friend" spent so much fucking time telling me how she considers me a real friend and how I'm different from all her other fandom friends, so when I was suddenly demoted to yet another "fan" it was a honest and horrible shock, and we didn't last long after that. I'm sorry your friend screwed you over so bad, but remember that you have the right to feel the pain you do and not be ashamed of it, and that you deserve so much better than her.
