Oh lord, I hate when that happens x_X I'm a musical theater whore and I jumped from being OMFG ~IN LOVE~ with Legally Blonde to Spring Awakening, which would be fine....except at the end of SA, the protagonist is heartbroken in a cemetery, crying his face off.

"...omigod you guys, looks like Elle's gonna win the prize!"

Also, "If there ever was a perfect couple, this one qualifies" is...highly ironic at best.

No, correct secret, you just don't get the source material that I'm referring to :p

Just prior to this song Melchior had run away from a reform school and had sent a letter to someone, telling them to meet him in a cemetery at midnight. When they doesn't show up he starts poking around...and discovers their grave, so he lets out a pretty heartbroken "Oh my god" and starts crying (see icon):



However, my mind connected Melchior's sad "Oh my god" to the opening song of Legally Blonde, "Omigod, You Guys," which totally doesn't fit the mood of that section of Spring Awakening.


My aside was in reference to the fact that it's even more inappropriate because one of the lines in OMG is "If there ever was a perfect couple, this one qualifies" and Melchior's relationship with his girlfriend...isn't.

How so? The secret boiled down to "I heard a line in a movie and completed it in my head with a quote from a song," which is exactly what I did. Toward the end of Spring Awakening the protagonist gives out a broken "Oh my god," upon discovering that someone he knows has died and I spliced that with this song (skip to 0:31)



It's not my fault that the secret used a popular movie and song whereas I used two Broadway musicals that fandomsecrets apparently isn't familiar with, and that's totally fine, but I wasn't Doing It Wrong™

Don't feel bad. Because one; the people above are probably just messing with you and two; I know exactly how you feel. I can't hear a character say, "What can you make out of this?" without automatically, thinking that line from Airplane!, "Well, I can make a hat, a brooch or a pterodactyl..." Even worse when some says, "He has a drinking problem." Stupid Airplane!. I'll never get that movie out of my head.
